Pair of metal bookends in black patina depicting Homer in the typical iconography attributed to the poet.
Germany, 1800s.
Note the design on the base: a pan flute is intertwined with a key and a ribbon, to underline the wisdom and musicality of the Greek Cantor.
Wear and patina, but no breaks, overall very good condition.
