Antique Biedermeier half-wardrobe with secret
Half-height wardrobe – Vienna – Biedermeier period – Early 19th century – Pine wood and ebonized wood – Original escutcheon and key.
This Viennese half-cabinet from the Biedermeier period (around the early 19th century) is truly unobtainable: wood in blond pine patina, square foot in ebonized wood, a typical contrast of this stylistic current so popular in Northern Europe in the 19th century.
Unobtainable not only for its aesthetics and dimensions, but also because the drawers on the front hide the secret of being a door: an ironic exercise in style by the cabinetmaker of the time.
Another gem: it can all be dismantled vertically (as you can see from the glimmers!)
Original brass key and escutcheon.
Half wardrobes or half-height wardrobes are furniture with shelves, smaller than a wardrobe and larger than a chest of drawers.
Also usable as sideboards, their proportions and dimensions make them suitable for any room in a home, always proving functional and spacious.
Ours, let's face it, is also ancient and beautiful!
Still to restore, included in the price.
