Two different, small Genoese oils on panel from the 1800s.

Ex Votos are nothing more than gifts offered following a vow: this common practice, in different forms, in many religions, is a commitment that the believer assumes towards the divinity provided that the same fulfills the requests or a thank you for a grace received.

For these two antiquities we speak of a misfortune averted thanks to the protection of the Madonna (present at the top right of one of the two works): the anger of the sea saved the boat from sinking.
