Antique French letterholder
NOT AVAILABLE
Table letter holder - France - 19th Century - Walnut wood.
In ancient times, you will never believe it, but there were no messages, emails or the dreaded WhatsApp voice calls.
How was it possible for people to communicate then?! But with epistolary correspondence! So they wrote each other, in short, letters. Therefore, letter holders to keep on the desk were necessary: a kit holder for envelopes, paper, stamps...
Ours is French, from the 1800s, in solid blond walnut essence with 4 compartments.
Notice the honey-colored patina of the wood and the hand-made joints on the sides.
Small wear and patina, but really excellent general conditions.
