Pair of antique Swedish chairs
Pair of chairs - Sweden - Gustavian Period - Late 1700s - Lacquered wood, cannè seat.
Pair of Swedish chairs dating back to the Gustavian period, around the end of 1700.
Carved wood with original lacquering ranging from the cream color of the structure to the blue gray of the details, typical of the eighteenth century and very popular in the noble courts of that era.
Seat and backrest in original canné.
In the attached photo taken from "Furniture of art, history of furniture from the 16th to the 20th century" by Alvar Gonzaléz-Palacios (the elite of art historians, here is some more information: https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alvar_Gonzlez-Palacios) note the resemblance to a pair of lounge chairs kept in Berlin, in the Chinese Room of Charlottenburg Castle.
Practically perfect condition, some wear on the lacquering, but perfect original barrel and guaranteed solidity.
The ancient can always be placed, even in the most modern furnishings.
