Globe - France - About late 1800 - Ebonized and turned wood, brass.
Ancient globe of important size and late 1800s circa.
France, designed by J. Forest and published by the Parisian publisher Grande Geographie Bong.
J. Forest was a famous French cartographer and geographer who be successfull in the late 1800s with the publication of his geographic maps and terrestrial globes.
Obviously rotating on the brass axis which is a little damaged. Globe a little unpatined towards the upper axis, but in general excellent condition.
Base in turned and ebonized wood, perfect and in patina.
