Ancient jewelery box

Jewelery box – France – 1800s – Tortoiseshell wood, brass fillets, red velvet.
We at Rattopennugo have always loved boxes, as they are small architectures, in our opinion. And this jewelery box, in its ultra-refined aesthetics, seems like a compendium of various decorative techniques, a true exercise in style by the Master Craftsman.
On the rounded top and on all four sides of the box whose structure is made of wood, we notice a fine work of inlays of various thicknesses all in brass which give movement and sinuosity to the object.
Furthermore, the top has a wooden rosette in the center that imitates the turtle.
The box opens and inside is lined with bright red velvet, typical of the French 19th century.
Hit below near the right front foot which in our opinion does not affect either the aesthetics or the stability, missing key.
Please note the details of the brass thread arabesques.
For the finest palates.
