Round case in medium-sized pyrographed leather.

Liberty Period, early 1900s, Italy, internally lined in original silk, now worn.

What makes this case interesting in antiques is, in addition to the chosen technique (pyrography, now almost forgotten), the scene represented: in pure Liberty style (the famous Italian period corresponding to the early 1900s) it depicts a Putto in the foreground with a drape to twirl over the head overlooking two tritons below.

Wear, patina and laterally damaged leather, but design more than intact, case absolutely usable.
