Specchiera quadrettata – Parigi – Fine 1700 – Epoca Direttorio – Legno, bronzo dorato e fregi “a oro foglia”.

Questa grande specchiera proviene dalla Francia, precisamente da Parigi ed è d’Epoca Direttorio.

The directorial style is manifested for a few years, only between 1795 and 1805 and overcomes the excesses and stylistic exuberances of the Rococo through a rigor of the forms and the voluntary abandonment of bronze decorations and technical virtuosities.

La specchiera che Rattopennugo propone possiede le caratteristiche di questo Stile che tanto desiderava allontanarsi dalle mode dell’ancient regime, ma da notare i fregi superiori,  in legno dorato “a oro foglia“, che si discostano per forma e stile dal formalismo del Direttorio. Questa scelta stilistica fa presumere che la specchiera, seppure sia stata creata in quei pochi anni in cui l’Epoca Direttorio viene collocata, già possedeva influenze dello Stile Impero.
