Statue - France - around 1930 - Terracotta.
Sizable female statue in raw terracotta, not painted.
With the sinuous movement and the beautiful smiling face of the woman depicted, full French 1930s.
What is most interesting about this bust is the intended incompleteness: the used and unpainted material and the aesthetics, could make us think of a sketch of a larger statue, but we at the Rattopennugo consider these stylistic choices more an inspiration to the Incompiuto by Michelangelo (not bad as an inspiration, right ?!) where the material was practically not treated and the figure was grasped as soon as it was sketched, but finished with very few strokes of the chisel.
Less is more.
Perfect condition, "mano felice", even if unsigned statue and the price considers it.
