Antique Swedish extendable table
Extendable table – Sweden – Late 1800s – Oscar II Era – Lacquered wood and marble top – For 8-10 people.
Particular Swedish table with carved and lacquered wooden base in ecru color and yellow marble top.
End of the 19th Century, created during the reign of sovereign Oscar II, famous for his political acumen and good taste in dressing.
It has 2 original lacquered wood extensions (which are still arriving from Sweden) which make this antique functional to accommodate 8-10 diners.
Furthermore, the table has dimensions that make it suitable for the narrowest dining room, given its shallow depth, or even in the middle of a room given the sculptured on the band of the table on all sides.
The two extensions are inserted using brackets which are pulled out of the table structure from the shorter side and each add cm. Approximately 50 and the possibility of hosting 2 more diners each. Obviously it is possible to insert just 1.
The table still needs to be restored, included in the price. Wear, patina, some high botanical reliefs missing on the undertop, the marble has some chipping, but in very good overall condition.
Solidity guaranteed.
To amaze with the ancient.
Measurements without extensions: width cm. 145 x 71.
