Ancient wax religious scene case

Holy case - Italy - 1800s Century - Sculpted wax and turned ebonized wooden base.

The display cases with scenes in wax are now cult objects for the most passionate antique collectors.

In the museums you can admire examples of the most overwhelming, preserved even from the Renaissance.

This is of important dimensions, containing a Nativity in sculpted polychrome wax and with an original glass case and base in ebonized and turned wood.

In the most fervent Italian Catholic tradition, 1800s.

Please note that even the sculpted blades of grass are green wax.

Unfortunately missing parts and cracks in the wax which testify to the period, but perfect glass case.
