Lombardia – North Italy – Luigi XV era – approximately 1740 – 2 drawers.
Walnut wood and polychrome wood inlays.
This chest can be placed between 1730 and 1750, an example of the mastery of the cabinet-makers of the era.
The plan, the front and even the leg are inlaid with sections in polychrome woods, with a play of light-dark so dear at the time (and much appreciated by the nobles).
The edge of the drawer is made of ebonized wood, typical of Lombard high cabinet making. The irons (vents, handles and locks) are coeval.
