Table - Paris - Napoleon III period - Late 1800s - Ebonized wood and painted in gold, inclusions in mother-of-pearl.
Table "a vela" (translate from Italian "seal": by means of a mechanism it is possible to rotate the top vertically, so that it takes up as little space as possible) in ebonized wood, round.
Paris, Napoleon III period, around the end of 1800, when Europe discovered the essential refinement of the East.
The decoration is among the most evocative: with the typical theatricality of the cabinet-making of the time, on the top with a black background we discover golden brushstrokes depicting pagodas, trees just hinted at, characters and temples. Inclusions of mother of pearl in the designs to give depth.
Tripartite leg, also decorated with fluttering golden motifs.
Functioning in the mechanism, solidity guaranteed.
Small lacks of mother-of-pearl, wear and patina, but great fascination for this antiquity.
Measure height with raised top cm. 105
