Cantonnier - Paris - Late 1800s circa - Mahogany wood, pink marble top, brass threading - 16 drawers in leather, paper and cloth.
Parisian office furniture from around the end of the 19th Century, called "Cantonnier" in antiques.
This type of chest of drawers was born in the offices of railway workers and customs agents, hence the name.
Very contemporary aesthetics, maximum practicality given the 16 drawers / compartments in leather decorated in gold.
In solid mahogany with patina, pink marble top, brass threads that surround the structure.
It should be noted that each drawer still has its own sheet with the initial letter for filing and that, on the side, two tilting bars, also threaded in brass, allow the drawers to be locked with a key to avoid snooping around in the archive.
Each drawer lined with hand combed blue and gold paper.
Very good general condition, furniture restored and ready to be placed!
