Rare pair of small round mirrors from Germany, 19th Century and in red lacquer on turned wood.

Witch mirrors (antiquities that are increasingly difficult to find and appetizing finds in the world of avid antiquarian collecting) are so called due to their apotropaic power, capable of keeping evil spirits and witches away from a house.

Please note the original hand painted antique paper on the back.

Wear, patina and one of the two mirrors has lost its reflection, but the price takes this into account; in general, given the age, in really good condition.

The size is for a single mirror, the price is for the two, not sold individually.
