Pair of Parisian bookends from the early 1900s, exemplary aesthetics of what was the stylistic hallmark of Art Deco: essential geometric lines that reach the perfection of form.
Polychrome marbles, small rear compartment (probably pen holder) and on the front depicted Minerva, Goddess of Wisdom, in sculpted gilded bronze.
Wear and patina, small nicks, but no breaks.
Soooo rare.
